--- Comment #6 from David Tonhofer bugh...@gluino.name ---
Looking good now

yum install perl-IO-Socket-SSL.noarch

now says

Package openssl.x86_64 1:1.0.1k-1.fc21 will be installed

instead of

Package openssl.x86_64 1:1.0.1j-1.fc21 will be installed

and this demands

openssl-libs-1.0.1k-1.fc21.x86_64

instead of the older

openssl-libs-1.0.1j-1.fc21.x86_64

openssl 1.0.1k was pushed to the F-21 stable updates repository earlier this
week so this should no longer be an issue.

Checked this -- The fresh EC2 image of Fedora 21 already contains
openssl-libs-1.0.1k-1.

I suppose this might cause some trouble with other packages. Oh well.

--- Comment #1 from Paul Howarth p...@city-fan.org ---
Your system appears to have openssl-libs 1.0.1k installed from the
updates-testing repository. This is not a problem in itself, but as you do not
currently have the updates-testing repository enabled, the dependency of a
matching version of openssl for perl-IO-Socket-SSL cannot be met.

You can do one of two things:

1. Downgrade your openssl-libs back to the stable release version of 1.0.1j

2. Install openssl 1.0.1k from updates-testing

After doing either of these, you should be able to install perl-IO-Socket-SSL.

Can't say for sure but 1.0.1k contains a bunch of CVE fixes over 1.0.1j (see
https://www.openssl.org/news/changelog.html) so maybe that's the reason.

Thanks Paul, I will try that.

Why would it have openssl-libs 1.0.1k though? This is the official Amazon EC2
cloud image. I will have to verify on the first install AMI what's on that...
