CPAN::Test (formerly CPAN::Smoke), the automatic smoke testing arm of
CPANTS, is undergoing sea trials. Those of you on cpan-testers might
have noticed a big spurt of traffic recently. :)

Besides simply building each module and seeing if the tests pass,
CPAN::Test has a number of common mistakes it looks for, made either
by CPAN::Test or the author. Some mistakes are fatal (like not
building, or not passing tests) and some are not (like having a
tarball that doesn't make it's own directory first). This is *not*
the full CPANTS auditing, but a more pragmatic list of problems
encountered when a user tries to install a module.

Each mistake is broken down into it's name, who it's by (CPAN,
CPAN::Test or the module author), if it's fatal, a description and a
recommendation on how to fix it.

I've posted the current list of mistakes on the Wiki. The
descriptions and how-to fix recommendations are thin and need fleshing
out. And, of course, if you can think of more possible mistakes, add
them.
