I have, today, built and run 'make test' (although no more than that)
successfully in the following environments:
(1) Win98, MinGW (gcc v3.2.3), ActivePerl 5.6.1
(2) Win98, MinGW (gcc v3.2.3), ActivePerl 5.8.7
(3) Win2k, MSVC++ 2003 Toolkit (cl v13.10.3077), ActivePerl 5.6.1
