I'm wondering, ..., didn't you really know that IPA already
stands for International Phonetic Alphabet and is widely in use?

How come you did not read about IPA2?
The reason why we have put that damn 2 after IPA, is your answer.
And do not forget that I'm a linguist, sir! So better than any other
guy, I may be a good phonetician as well.
