   1. April - Mozilla International Month (Brian King)
--- Begin Message --- We are very pleased to announce International Month in the Mozilla community. The primary aims are to promote and educate about the localisation (l10n) and internationalisation (i18n) capabilities of Mozilla software, and to show how truly global the software can be and the community is.

To coincide with International Month, a number of publications and events have been planned. These include:

* A new l10n documentation section on mozdev.org. New documents include a localisation how-to for non-techies, and a review of Mozilla Localization Editors.

* A special edition of the Mozilla Links Newsletter. Mozilla Links are already translated into 6 languages, and more translations are planned for this issue.

* Independent Status Report specifically for l10n/i18n projects.
* mozilla.party.jp 5.0: Mozilla-gumi, one of the largest Mozilla users' groups in Japan, is organizing an annual conference on 18 April.

* A document aimed at extension authors on how to make their software localisable.
* Contributions for the international aspects of the releases of Mozilla 1.7, Firefox 0.9, Thunderbird 0.6 release, scheduled for release in mid-May.

We welcome your participation in this Month, and if you have any comments, ideas, or would like to contribute in some way, please follow up on the l10n list or contact mozdev.org feedback.
