I find this an interesting question - the reason I got involved with this group more than 10 years ago was to investigate the possibility of integrating environmental data with pest data. I've always thought it would be a valuable resource and an interesting combination of data. My CollectionPests.com currently does pest tracking and trap location mapping. The importing of environmental data to be integrated with the pest count data is being worked on for release mid 2012. >From that point the next step would be to revive the Artifact Tracker (artifacttracker.com) project and meld all three information databases together. (Artifacttracker.com was put on hold when a group from Europe with more resources than I announced the same project - but as far as I know it did not materialize.) So as not to be accused of "You never asked" - if any organization or group is interested in pursuing this, contact me. leon ... This is something that we are interested in embarking on this year - well at least scoping the opportunity. We would also like to incorporate the Environmental data we collect so that can make predictions and also have data easily and readily available to support our Integrated Pest Management Plan. I was at a conference about 3 years ago and this was presented and its use within KEMu but we dont use this collection management system. Any help would be much appreciated Auckland Museum Trust Board ("Auckland Museum") accepts no liability for any opinion contained in this email.
