Hello Sara. As part of our Museum's IPM program cut flowers are
generally not allowed into general offices or galleries. If flowers are
delivered to a staff member, they are held in our Security Control Room
and must be taken at the end of the day.

We have had requests for flowers to be bought into the museum for
special events. This is rare however our procedure is to inspect the
flowers prior to their entry to the museum and then spray them with a
pyrethrum based insecticide and placed where people are less able to
smell them.

Carpet Beetles can harbour (alive) in bunches of flowers - I have
personally seen this.
