More on Trump and YouTube
Two questions I've received:
1) Are Trump's past videos that were removed from YouTube being restored?
I don't have a definitive answer. At this moment it appears not but
obviously everything is subject to change.
2) Why did YouTube do this?
I don't think they really had any choice. Despite being a mouthpiece
for Putin and fascism, Trump is also the leading GOP candidate for
president in 2024 and officially registered as a candidate. The other
platforms have already restored his accounts. What YouTube needs to do
now is closely monitor Trump's activities going forward, and take action
on his account and/or videos that he posts from this point forward. And I
think YouTube will be under considerable pressure to do this, both
internally and externally.
