My ongoing Internet ID poll on Mastodon
Let's cut to the chase. Are you willing to provide your government ID,
either directly to websites or to third-party "verifiers" who would
maintain the identity/age data linking you to your Internet usage
across accounts and sites, for access to social media and/or other
websites that are required by law to block children due to perceived
"inappropriate" content? (Utah has just passed a law requiring this
ID'ing of *all* social media users for major sites -- other states and
the federal government are moving similar *bipartisan* efforts.)
