Works for me on my environment.

Adding -f to pg_dumpall will only made it available for 8.3, isn't
 it ?

Yes. But this will fix the source of the problem. Then pgadmin will say
I can dumpall to a file with PostgreSQL 8.3 That's all.

Resolving this issue in pgadmin is the bad way, I think.

[pgadmin-hackers] Problem with custom autovac

Hi,

Yesterday, I installed PostgreSQL RC1 on Windows to test Turkish

However I could not define it. The error was Error: null value in
column freeze_min_age violates not-null constraint.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

We do? When did that happen?

It has already been registered (I don't know who has done it... Maybe
it's me). I was playing with postgresql-tr and plphp, and this reminded
me an IRC channel about pgadmin.

Anyway I'm online there, anyone is welcome...

Turkish, pgadmin3 halts with a segfault. Do you need additional info for
that? strace output fox example?

Immediately on language change, or shortly afterwards? Translations usually
cause crashes if there's a string with the wrong number of parameters in it
and pgAdmin tries to use it.

Immediately on language change.

And yes, a backtrace would be good thanks!

Ok, I'll send a strace shortly.

be non-trivial to fix - you might prefer to build from
svn://svn.pgadmin.org/tags/REL-1_4_0/pgadmin so your distro does include the
missing files.

I think you should rebuild the tarball or directly release 1.4.0-2. The
tarball on the FTP site and the tarball I'll use in the RPMs will differ
and IMHO it means that what I'll use will not be 1.4.0.

Opps :( Sorry for the noise.

Make sure you get the tarball from developer.pgadmin.org though, as the older
one might still be on the mirrors for a day or so.

Ok, I've built the Fedora Core 4 RPM. It's on developer site atm. More

By the way: It installs without warnings on Fedora Core 2 and 3, as well.
And it also runs fine on such hosts, it seems.
The FC3-targeted RPM currently on the ftp mirrors will not run on older
Fedora Core releases.
A thought: If a single RPM will really work for all by being built on a
FC1 host, why not just distribute such an RPM?
I'm not against that, but we know that Fedora users upgrade their desktops
quickly, so I believe we don't have that much FC1 users around. So FC3
targeted RPM will work well for many users.

I've rewritten parts of the spec-file. Most importantly, I now include
the source of wxGTK and the latest PostgreSQL 8 beta in the build process,
to minimize dependencies on the build host. As previously, the pgadmin3
binary is statically linked to wxGTK and PostgreSQL's libraries.
Could you please send me the SRPM so that we can track the changes in spec

[pgadmin-hackers] Version numbering

Hi,
I've found out that all my previous rpms were broken in some ways. RC1 is
fully broken btw... I'm building the new RPMs now, will upload in an hour.

Anyway... Can we change version numbering style please... like...
pgadmin3-1.2.0-rc1.tar.gz
to
pgadmin3-1.2.0rc1.tar.gz
so that we can build packages easily... In spec file, we can define two
tags:

- - major_version
- - minor_version
After the tarball is extracted, setup wants to enter %{major_version}
directory. But we can't use dashes in major version string:

i.e., 1.2.0-rc1 is an invalid string, but 1.2.0rc1 ||1.2.0_rc1 are valid
strings, so setup fails to continue...

So... could you please package the next release candidate as:
pgadmin3-1.2.0rc2.tar.gz?

Hi,
On Wed, 15 Sep 2004, Dave Page wrote:

Which was?
I followed the instructions of Diego, cleaned up old wx and other stuff.
also unix_compilation.html was my guide, too.

Anyway... the rpm is ready. I'll upload the FC2 rpm and SRPM to
http://www.pgadmin.org/snapshots/linux/SRPMS/
http://www.pgadmin.org/snapshots/linux/FC2
in an hour.
Thanks - it might take longer than an hour to rsync up to www though...
Umm, the package is 24 MB, I'm using 512K DSL at work so I'll be able to
upload it after everyone goes home. Let's say 6 hours later.

Next step: I'll build the rpm of wxWidgets for FC2...
We're not holding binaries of wxWidgets any more - they were all
hopelessly out of date anyway and all the developers were building from
source.
But... I think if we didn't compile pgadmin3 with --enable-static, then
the package size would be smaller. People would install wxWidgets once;
and then pgadmin3. So I believe we should build wxWidgets rpm.

It would be good though it you could build a real beta1 just for
completeness.
Ok, done:
pgadmin3-1.2.0-beta1.i686.rpm
pgadmin3-1.2.0-beta1.src.rpm
:)
will upload these ones with the other ones tonite.
PS, will this version run on FC1?
I have a FC1 box but it does not run a gui. I believe the SRPM will help
people using FC1.

Also... FC1 has been moved (or will be moved shortly) to fedora legacy
project. I'm not sure that we'll need to support FC1.

You're right, but a wx package we're relying on should be official. 2.5.3

You have a wx header problem, you're using old versions. Dave just fixed the

Ok, trying it again. Removed wxGTK packages, modified ld.so.conf and

only developers or persons who want to build pgAdmin3 by themselves.

No. I've just tried to rebuild the rpm.

This happens when the configure script detects a change in the

tries to re-build them. Since configure is not distributed with the

Dear Raphal, It has probably nothing to do with Debian.

Yep. I cannot do anything with users. I can neither add nor edit them.

This is the e-mail that I've sent when I've rebuilt the first FC1 RPM.
Here is a part of that e-mail:

I've tested them and they work well (except a segfault, I'll trace it
tomorrow and send the report).

I had no time to send the report at those days; but that segfault was the
one that I've reported today.

So, hackers: Could you please trace back to Nov 15th and earlier?

Hi,

I've poEdit for FC1. The original srpm did not work; since the installed
package names of wxwindows did not match the ones in the spec file.

I've uploaded them to snake, and will be available after sync under

http://pgadmin.postgresql.org/snapshots/linux/FC1/

I've tested the package and it works well.

I can surely help. I've been off for 15 days. I just returned home and

on a computer that does not belong to me. I'll install FC 1 to my home and

So: I'll begin building tomorrow and send the URLs to you.

I'm glad that I found another chance to contribute the project, after

http://pgadmin.postgresql.org/pgadmin3/index.php, which is correct.

Just a FYI.
