Re: [pgadmin-hackers] pgAdmin2 support multi language (extract string

2003-09-29 Thread frank_lupo
Hi Hiroshi Saito,
Thanks for your patch, you can send the Japanese.lng file?
Thanks

 Hi Frank.

 It is Great.!

 I tried it.
 There are two problems.

 1) Font selection is Japanese problem. Or Multi-Byte font.
It seems that this can be avoided with this patch.

 2) The input of the Japanese.lng file causes an error.
Some of the characters of Multi-byte cause a problem.
It is troublesome though this is the problem of VisualBasic.

 However, See below.
 http://cre-ent.skcapi.co.jp/~saito/pgadmin2/pgAdmin2_MultiLanguage.jpg
This is not the edition translated specially.!!
It can be expressed perfectly in Japanese.

 Regards,
 Hiroshi Saito

 Thanks Hiroshi, patch applied.

Frank; I like the new query builder :-) One minor problem -
frmVisualQueryBuilder.frx has been added as an ASCII file. Can you
remove it and re-add it as a binary file please?

 Regards, Dave.

Hi Dave, Hiroshi,

I add a support to operator class in pgschema and pgadmin2.
I fix frmVisualQueryBuilder.frx binary file.
My new idea on pgadmin2 are:
- add parm on visual query builder
-generation documentation

-editor for trigger ,function and rule-relationship diagramming
- traslation lang

  The problem is SQL_GET_TYPES7_3.
This is changed by Marc Persuy.
  This selectin is in error.
Please replace previous version of SQL_GET_TYPES7_3

Hmm, the old version was wrong as well as it hid custom types. See below

types. Any idea what it should really be?

 Hello,

Your product is my everyday's tool, and superb.

Even with the latest version of pgAdmin, I can't see the types I defined
 on postgres 7.3.

A

So I tried a small change in pg Schema\basGlobal.bas, namely :

 Replace this sql constant :

 'Public Const SQL_GET_TYPES7_3 = SELECT oid, *,
 pg_get_userbyid(typowner) as typeowner FROM pg_type WHERE typtype != 'd'
 AND typtype != 'c'

 by this one :

 Public Const SQL_GET_TYPES7_3 = SELECT pg_type.oid, *,
 pg_get_userbyid(typowner) as typeowner FROM pg_type, pg_class WHERE
 pg_type.typrelid = pg_class.oid AND pg_class.relkind in ('c','s','t')

I tested and it works to get the list of defined types, but I can't see
no function like pg_get_viewdef(viewOID) which could be applied to a
type, so displayed screen is not very explicit..

Have You got an idea to get the work fully done ?

 Sincerely

 Marc Persuy

  Hi Dave

Ok finally they are successful to use cvs.

I have download the pgadmin2, pgschema and activex.

When I execute the compilation using BuildAll.bat, proposals
  of the errors come me.

Impossible to set up the compatible component with the
  version: c:\pgadmin2\binaries\pgschema.dll.

This error is present in all the programs.

The compilation does not come executed.

How I can make in order to resolve the problem?

 Hi Frank,

Copy an old version of pgschema.dll to
 c:\pgadm
 in2\bina

r
ies\pgschema.dll. It's just the compiler complaining
that it can't find the version with the existing class ids etc.

 Regards, Dave.

Hi Dave

Ok, the compilation is ok.
The file that I have download with cvs I have them in single reading.
It is right that they are therefore?

 Hi Frank,

I still don't see the updates for frmMain and clsContext. We need to add

RE: [pgadmin-hackers] add scroll frmtable

2003-03-19 Thread frank_lupo
Hi dave

 1) Control positioning (see attachment). Could this be because I have XP's fancy
 graphics turned on?

change the top position
from :
'.Top = objForm.Height - .Height * 2 - 25
to
.Top = objForm!cmdOK.Top

 2) It doesn't work for all objects (is this just because they were missed?) e.g.
columns, rules (there may be more).

OK for Column,ForeignKey,Rule,Trigger,Index

 3) It scrolls all objects. Need to check whether the user is viewing
 system objects or not.

Now Verify

 4) When I scroll to another table, the properties window closes! Most
 other object types seem OK.

Correct error

I just tried this patch and some of it seems to be missing. When I try

I developed a reindex command (table, index no database).

Sorry Frank - this breaks the OO design of pgSchema. Unless there are
exceptional circumstances, anything that occurs to an object should be
implemented as a method of that object, so I would expect to see methods
 like:

 pgIndex.ReIndex()
 pgDatabase.ReIndex()
 pgTable.ReIndex()

Can you recode it in that fashion please?

 Thanks, Dave.

Excuse, I have corrected the schema.

It is not possible to use pgadmin2 if the view are

Oh, I see. How about wrapping everything in a transaction in
pgDatabase.Execute in pgSchema? We should probably then provide a
secondary connection for use with SQL queries in pgAdmin. Probably not a
 bad idea anyway.
 What do you think?

 Regards, Dave.

The problem is the function pg_get_viewdef. If the view is drop and transiction is
safe (no commit/rollback) the function lock query.
Is possible not use this function?

I've had nothing but bad experiences with Java and despite giving it as

Re: [pgadmin-hackers] problem to developing the lock

2003-02-22 Thread frank_lupo
It's rumoured that frank_lupo once said:
I am developing the lock but I find problems why the pgadmin2 it
remains blocked. How can be resolved the problem?

  Read mail:
drop view not possible to select from pg_view
  http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-general/2003-01/msg01031.php

Sorry Frank, I don't understand what you mean :-(

 Regards, Dave.

I set autocommit =off.
When drop view and i do not send commit or rollback,is not possible to select from
other user on pg_view. The Pgadmin2 when read schema is locked, and is not possible to
make whichever other operation. This is my problem.
It is not possible to use pgadmin2 if the view are locked.

Re: [pgadmin-hackers] Pg_hba.conf Editor

2003-02-20 Thread frank_lupo
 Hi all,

I've just committed a new pg_hba.conf editor plugin for pgAdmin II as
originally submitted by Frank Lupo and subsequently enhanced and
converted to a plugin by Mark Yeatman.

This will be particularly useful for Cygwin PostgreSQL and the upcoming
 Win32 native port.

Snapshot binaries are in the binaries folder at http://cvs.pgadmin.org
for those interested in trying it out. Installation instructions are in
 the readme.

 Regards, Dave.

TIP 2: you can get off all lists at once with the unregister command
(send unregister YourEmailAddressHere to [EMAIL PROTECTED])

improvements:

- add AutoSizeColumnLv when load, add, update, remove line
- when select option from file database/user show filelistbox with selection
multiple.
- add p
 ossibili
t
y to create the new files (database/user)
- combination files and databases/users, it does not exclude the other (my error)
  read documentation
 e.g
# TYPE DATABASEUSERIP-ADDRESSIP-MASK METHOD
local db1,db2,@demodbs all md5
local all @admins,+supportmd5
I do not comprise the manual insertion of the values, if these come read from schema

 Hi Frank,

Looks excellent. How easy is it to generate?

My only (minor) comments: Could probably do with in empty cells,
and I think there are some line spacing issues in the SQL cell for
 pg_class.

 Regards, Dave.

The idea is read a frmmain form and silumate the click on the form.
I developed the primordial programm, is required the HTML_Help_Workshop exe to
generate chm file. It easy to generate.

I developed a find object database

 Hi Frank,

This is a nice addition to pgAdmin, thanks. There are a couple of
changes that would make it better before I add it however:

 - It is not clear that the comment and sql boxes filter the pre-existing
results. It would make more sense for empty fields to be ignored, so you
could search just on comment for example.

 - An option to search for objects with a given OID would be very useful.

This would probably work well as a plugin, rather than built into
pgAdmin. I might do that myself if you have no objections?

 Thanks again, Dave.

The option find are in AND (name and comment and sql).
If precedente filter is clear the filter is not active.
It is not possible to create plugin, because it does not come passed to plugin the
reference of all the PgAdmin application, this serves in order to visualize the detail
of the object in the listview (event doubleclick).
