I have tracked down the QueryBuilder error, and it's not a wxWindows error, per se. The problem lies in the frmQueryBuilder::OnSize() event handler. Basically, the QueryBuilder form receives the OnSize event *before* the form has been created. Here is a thread from the wxWindows list,

So, for the sake of a quick test, I commented out the code in frmQueryBuilder::OnSize() and pgAdmin3 happily started to display the query builder, but it crashed again. This time it gets a segfault in wxListBase::GetFirst() const (this=0x30) at list.h:270 in list. I will investigate further.
