[ADMIN] Creating a postgres mirror of an AS/400

We have an AS/400 that I need to mirror the data from. I figured that since it has an SQL interface I could setup a Linux box with PostgreSQL, and just make timed updates of data. However, I can't find any documentation on anyone who has done this. Anyone have any suggestions? Nathan %-)
