like the postgresql-server-8.1.5-3PGDG.i686.rpm is available
for ES 4, but not AS 4. Any idea when the new RPMs might be
available for AS 4?

enable/disable autovacuum logging? It sure would be nice to be able
to verify that tables are being vacuumed properly without having to
set the log level to DEBUG2.

I found where I saw that EnterpriseDB has enabled autovacuum logging.
Look at item number one under the section entitled "Changes in
