The core team has agreed that the data-corruption bug fixed here http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-committers/2010-05/msg00016.php is serious enough to justify a prompt update release. Although that bug only affects 8.4 and HEAD, we have some other significant bug fixes pending in the older
