I wish to estimate the total cost for a given path of a query. This
path is a tree consists of nestloop, hashjoin, mergejoin as internal
nodes with seqscan or idxscan at the leaves.
My approach is to cost the path bottom-up, and invoke the
cost_nestloop, cost_merge_join etc.
The problem is that
My program (indirectly) calls the following function twice,
tuple = SearchSysCache(STATRELATT, ObjectIdGetDatum(relid),

The first time it assigns NULL to tuple, while the second time it

I found any query exceeds 4096 charactors will be pruned automatically. i am wondering which knob should i change to make it larger , say, 1 charactors. i searched for a while but was not able to find it online. so if anyone has a quick nswer that will be highly appreciated.
I am using version 8.0.3. i installed using the
--without-readline option.
is there a quick workaround?

i am using psql client. On Fedora core (linux core: 2.4.20-8 )
