O.K., this is the last one of these apps for a while now I should think. I've just added a gui frontend onto Fabrice Bellard's ppm compression program. Compilation gives you two programs - ppmcomp which compresses any old text file you have, and ppmreader which will read it.
Current features include opening files, and scrolling forwards and backwards. :) It should also bookmark where you read to, and next time you open a file open it at that point. Files are read a block at a time off the disk, and it seems to handle even large files quite nicely (eg.
