The Textbox widget as it is now doesn't work due to some bugs in handling redraw flags. This could be fixed, but I'm holding off on that since John has a new design for the textbox widget. John's code initially won't be as flexible as the textbox, but it will be much faster, and should be extensible to have the same level of formatting we were expecting from the textbox. John has sent Yann and I a draft copy of his widget, but we haven't heard from him in a few weeks. Hopefully John's widget will be working soon, and we will make the first release of picogui with a working textbox. Otherwise, Yann and/or I will work on fixing either John's draft or the current textbox widget. I'd like to make the first picogui release within a month, but not knowing John's status I can't say whether this is practical or not.
