Hi Steve.
I'm about an hour or so north of LA and will be hosting a meeting of the Golden
State Phonograph Society later this month. Perhaps hed like to come and meet
several collectors from Southern California at one time! We'll be celebrating
our 20th Anniversary as well. Feel free to give him my email address.
Thanks

There is a young man (around 30) who lives in Los Angeles who is interested in
phonographs.  He has an Amberola 30, I just rebuilt his reproducer.  Is anyone
in the area interested in meeting with him?  If so send me an email off list.
He is interested in meeting other collectors and hopefully he will join APS.

Subject: [Phono-L] Another Victor L-Door VV-XVI knob issue  Greetings.  I have
a Victor L-Door VV-XVI (C series) and I need two smaller gold knobs in addition
to the one large gold door knob I posted about yesterday.  In this case, I need
the knob that is affixed to the front of the record shelf (the one that pulls
out in between the speaker and the L-doors) and the one that should be affixed
to the upper left-hand corner of the motor board to facilitate pulling it up.
I could also use the one that attached to the pull-down door in the back of the
cabinet.  These are also basic screw knobs with no backing, I believe.  I have
no idea what the diameter of any of these knobs should be; if someone could let
me know, I would be grateful.  And if someone should happen to have any or all
of them to sell, please let me know.  Thanks again!

Well, taking into consideration the stock he keeps on hand and the costs of
storage, etc, I guess the prices are ok. I guess it just comes down to what a
person has the means to pay. I don't have a lot of disposable income for
phonograph parts, so I hunt for the best deal I can. A higher price, like
beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

I actually think George's prices are quite reasonable, all things considered.
He consistently provides honest, outstanding service, and he invests in a broad
range of inventory items, despite the fact that he may not be able to turn many
of them over for months or in certain cases even years.

Not yet. I usually try the collector network first.  George has an amazing
array of hard-to-find parts, and I've purchased many things from him in the
past and will again in the future, but the prices tend to be high. Of course
when you really need something, price is less of an object.

Thank you for the input.
