[Phono-L] Edison Standard Case Needed

2008-05-28 Thread VicDoc160
Anyone have a complete standard model a case?? Even if its just the bottom and
bedplate frame. I am pretty much willing to buy any condition as long as it
has little to no veneer damage. I have a bunch of standard parts and want to
put one together from scratch with what I have. I would really appreciate it.
I am also looking for a columbia model b speed control screw and belt cover
still.

Hi. Hope all are well. I have been in the market for sometime for a nice
Victor Jr. I have had the opportunity to purchase several of the later models
with the black horn. I am holding out for an all original red horn one.

Any idea as to how many red horn Juniors were made? Is there anyone in this
group that has one for sale? Thanks for all of your help!

Hey, if any of you are in the market for a Victrola IX, there is one on ebay.
And yes, $500.00 will not meet the reserve, and yes, the seller will take a
'buy it now' for the wonderful price of $3500.00!

Wait until you read the description. I am sure that the seller worked hard
restoring this phonograph, but one would think that he may have gone a bit too
far!

The seller goes on to say that the Victor workmanship and original design of
the internal horn was flawed because of welded joints distorting the sound.
So he, the seller filed down the seams during his unbelievable overhaul of the
machine to give the best sound possible.
(Give me a break)

He also includes a sweet little home made cover as well. Any way, I don't
think a veteran collecter would fall for this offer, but for first
timersfirst timers with alot of money...well maybe.

I think that a complete redo of any machine, unless it was a basket case,
really takes away the value of the machine. I have seen some Victor VI
phonographs redone so well that they look like they have the reproduction case
made
over seas. I am extremely cautions of these machines, especially when the
papers
are gone. I guess I like a little character. I guess that is why my wife
puts up with m...@#@...

It's 330225961652.

It's a little too shiny for my taste, sure, and I don't think anyone should
pay that much for a IX, but he did a fabulous restoration job on it and it
looks great. He may not have known when to quit, perhaps, but I don't think
there's anything for a buyer to fall for in this listing whatsoever.
