I was given a small booklet by a friend. It is titled, "Standard Recitations" no. 24. On the cover is a picture of a bespectacled gent and underneath that is the caption, "Denman Thompson as "Uncle Joshua" in "The Old Fashioned." Might this be the origins of "Uncle Josh"?
