I have a column that is VARCHAR 250. I need it to be able to accept french and
spanish accents. The purpose of the column is organization names. The

Hi Ron, you should use
CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci
in your table for a wide option of languages.
Example:
CREATE TABLE `t_my_table` (
`row_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL,
`row_name` varchar(64) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8
I use utf-8 for that it works well
