Hey, if the databases contain the same data, why don't you just have them use one database. Just set up MySQL with a user on the internet server that the intranet system uses to connect to it with.. Do it over SSL and it would be secure then. Wouldn't that be somewhat simpler and less time consuming? I mean if they are meant to contain the same data anyway...
