Gian, You need to setup a DSN, not just pass the name of the database. There are some examples in the iODBC HOWTO that may help: http://www.iodbc.org/odbc-phpHOWTO.html
Pay attention to the section on putenv() and configure your DSN in the odbc.ini file.
