I have found that a function within a function takes a global namespace. Shouldn't
the inside function decl

This is kind of messy! Is there any other way? Or can "global" be changed so that it
only creates the reference if the var exists?

Problem solved in latest CVS.

Ok, thanks. I know I have the whole file as I have checked it against a
working version on NT4. I have checked many .chm files (including those from
a win98 install on my dual boot machine) and have had no trouble with any
but the manual.chm. Sorry for the trouble...
