Not sure why this hasn't been fixed, but you have to type in the whole path to apxs. That is, you need to do a ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs or wherever you installed apache2. At least, that worked for me with the latest cvs version (4.04pl1 didn't work for me). -Mark
