There is no error on my part. To correct this problem I only need to know
the location of the files the php installs on my system so I can deleate
them. I also think it would be very wise for PHP to write a make uninstall
script for PHP for such situations as mine.

Subject: PHP 4.0 Bug #8693 Updated: Problem upgradong from 4.0.3pl1 to
4.0.4pl1

> This can only be user error. Note that you are mixing up your versions in
your bug report. You are saying that you are trying to upgrade to 4.0.3pl1
and that phpinfo() is telling you that you are running 4.0.3pl1. I assume
you mean 4.0.4pl1, but this still can't be a PHP bug. You are either not
running 'make install' to install the new libphp4.so module in the right
place, or you are not restarting the web server, or you are restarting the
wrong web server, or installing the file in the wrong place. It is
something trivial like this you are screwing up.

> I am runing apache 1.3.14 from a rpm and PHP 4.0.3pl1 from a tar.ball. I
have tried to upgrade to version 4.0.3pl1. the cofigure, make and make
install runs with out any problem. But when I run a file with the phpinfo()
function in it the version still shows as version 4.0.3pl1. I have tried
removing several PHP related file from my drive but to the same result. My
configure line looks like following:
>
> './configure' '--with-apxs' '--with-ccvs=/usr/local/ccvs' '--with-pgsql'
'--with-mysql' '--with-msql=/usr/lib/Hughes' '--with-gd' '--with-openssl'
'--enable-track-vars' '--enable-ftp'
