Wouldn't it be nice if fsockopen() function offered the ability to specify the source address. Does such a patch exist? My concern is that outgoing connections end up coming from the "primary" IP address (e.g. eth0) and not one of the aliased IP addresses (e.g. eth0:1, eth0:2, etc...) where the query originated. Any hints would be appreciated.
