It's good you are using Smarty template engine.
Currently i am testing Smarty on development server
and soon i will start using
big issues!! I'd recommend that you check out the book 'XML and PHP' by
Vikram Vaswani, New Riders. Its well written and concise - should answer
your queries and more.

well Im out of a job so I am sitting around learning XML. It seems like a
great tool, but I am trying to figure out why I would actually use it? All
