I have been using phpwebhosting with no problems for the last year.
They are also real good about responding to questions via email. Red
Hat Linux, php, phpMyAdmin, PEAR, MySQL, secure shell access(ssh), and
ftp access. Un-metered traffic, un-throttled, and true burstable
bandwidth. Un-metered POP3 mailboxes, unlimited email addresses,
unlimited auto-responders, and unlimited mailing lists. $9.95/month or
$9.18/month if you pay by the year. I do not work for them - just a
customer.

I'd start with :

$var=preg_replace('!<tr bgcolor=.+>!m', '[breakhere]', $var);
$listing=explode('[breakhere]', $var);

you did not edit the config file. PHP script is trying to connect to
database with user "apache" (which is default for the server) and since
there is also no password it does not work.

you must enter
USRNAME
PASSWORD
DATABASE NAME
to the config file.

Read the README or INSTALL file.

You should read this section of the manual:

http://us2.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php

Scroll down the the "Variable parsing" title and read from there and all
will be clear.

ok so i worked out the connection_status and connection_abort will only
work if the script is actually running and a request to the server , so i

a certain ammount of time , i need this to calculate the idle time to
prevent multiple logins , although a static idle time will let a multiple
login after that and then the first login will get kicked , any ideas ?

Thanks for the guidance guys...

Going on the idea that it was indeed a problem with script, arrays,
etc., I found a few things. The display was well over 9000 characters
before it failed, so that 8k max thing was unlikely in this case. But
it seems to have been fixed by other things done. They all happened
at more or less the same time so not sure which was the culprit.

The first had to do with session_bug_compat_42. The ini is supposed
to allow the error message to be shut off but doesn't. I started to
get that error so the only way to eliminate it was to find the reason.
It turned out it was an empty table that caused it.

The next was a field name typo in an input query.

Third, another table was corrupt to the point of being 'occupied',
when looked at with phpMyAdmin. Even so, my program had seemed to run
fine otherwise.

All in all, I'm happy for finding all these things. We all should
have more difficulties, eh? It would do us good. <g> Just kidding.

I have not yet tried too hard to reintroduce the problem. If I take
the time or have other news, I'll be sure to post it.

Thanks again.

How can I strip ALL HTML tags, then turn UBB code to HTML. And I also want
to know how to turn the HTML back to UBB?
