Yes, in fact it is normal. Having dedicated MySQL box is a good idea. A lot of the MySQL security is based around this. To find out how look in the MySQL manual (download .pdf from www.mysql.com) or go on the mysal mailing list (same domain) or if you have a decent isp get primer from there support website (you could have a look at www.pair.com/support). Is it possible to have a script at xyz.com retrieve data from a mySQL database on abc.com? Jeff
