[PHP] test for multi-dim array
I'm trying to recursively loop through a multi dimensional array with unknown keys and unknown values, and echo the keys/values to a sql statement, where the key is the field, and the value is the. value. What I want to do is test an array index to see if it has any children indices (which then need to be looped through again), or if it is the lowest level child. in which case, the data needs to be extracted. What is the easiest way to test an array index to see if it has one or more children? Just doing a count() isn't reliable, as their may only be a single parent on the highest level. John

In all specs, servers were encouraged to support as many characters as is practical Note that part of this stems from the fact that there are many embedded HTTP servers with very specific minimalist goals. EG the HTTP server in one of them little D-Link hub thingies has to be pretty small, right? But they want to be compliant with the spec, right? Or, at least, non-compliance should not be over something as trivial as the dang URL being too long At any rate, other than being more than the minimum, it's entirely up to your HTTP application how long is max length Here's the thing though: Do you really want a 4000-char URL? That's probably not a Good Idea for a lot of different reasons -- some of which may not apply to domain-specific applications, but... MOST people asking this question are e, not newbies, but journeymen web application developers, who are going to soon realize that there are better ways to manage client/server I/O than cramming 4000 characters into a URL. :-) :-) :-) IMHO YMMV IANAL -- Like Music? http://l-i-e.com/artists.htm -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php

I would be willing to say that 3/4 of all internet users are on IE still so tweaking server settings and testing with browsers other than IE is useless. Do you inform the user and prompt them to enter the fields again or do you just strip out all the bad characters and enter the rest of the info into the database? Im concerned with what to do once a user has added the bad characters. I will be using a regular expression. thanks in advance -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php

[PHP] test for illegal characters and consequences
Hi guys. Ive developed a site and now I've come to the stage where I need to test each textfield on each form for illegal characters that have been inputted. I would like to know from some of you how you go about it? Do you use a regular expression and test each textfield sequencially, also what do you do when you find illegal characters? do you strip them out of the inputted information or do you post an error message and tell them that there are illegal characters? I have many pages and many textfields so I would like to use the best and most appropriate and time effective approach by taking in your suggestions before doing the testing and counter measure. Re: [PHP] test security of code
Hello there... i think you can lessen this effort by improving your qualitymanagement during the planing and development phase of your projects (means making a lot of UML diagrams and so on...). You may try to let the application handle its missbehavours by itself. If you don't want anyone to get your source-code it's a question of server security... cheers bb Am $date schrieb $from: Thanks looks good will read on further .
