Chris, This might be a bit late but a couple of graphioc designers I work with use a forum on Flash at http://www.were-here.com. The forums themselves, judging from the filenames, are done with PHP and are quite attractive in terms of presentation and are clearly well used. well my site isn't 'big name' but it's got a very cool catch to it... it's got an ftp indexer that I'm developing.
