My PHP scripts are in a directory, php. The owner of the directory is root and the group is apache. Other has no rights. Group has rx rights. All works well *except* the surfer can view the directory of the php directory *and* copy the files. It means that DirectoryIndexing is enabled in apache =) you can either disable that (recommended) or as a quick fix put a blank index.htm (or .html file) in that directory so when someone calls up just the directory they get that blank page.
