I'm currently subsribed to Oreilly's Safari. I find it very useful for coming up to speed quickly but even though the complete book is available online it is still no replacement for a hard copy of a book. I usually read the book online then buy it if I like it.
I have not read any of the MySQL books online but I have read several PostgreSQL and C/C++ books.
