I hope that 'Mole' is one of the options on the list... I'm kind of inclined
to defer to Rasmus on the issue anyway, what with him being the guy
responsible for creating PHP in the first place. :)
I'm also keeping in mind that (unless I missed something),
Hey, love the colors! But that's a regular ant. Where's the catch twist
exclusive hidden feature? It's an ant, but ain't no ant like other ant :-)
I don't know, usually when something common can be found on a design
there's a little mod added.
Did you draw it? On 1024 video resolution

Perhaps the addition of a small red stinger would that extra visual
bite.
No alas I can not take credit for the drawing, my better half who is a creative web
designer made
the comp, and I will give her your feedback so she can do a second comp.

How about an Aunt!? ( I don't know if it is in use )
Ant is a hard worker in the summer and very powerfull ( can lift 30 times

Who's to say ants dont work just as hard in the winter? We can't se em.. unless
it's because they're dormant in the winter, in which case I just made myself look
INCREDIBLY stupid =)

H - killer - how about an Orca? We'll pretend that they
get along well with the MySQL dolphin, but PHP is definitely a
killer app.
Yeah, but don't Orcas eat penguins?

How about a Beaver? They're small, fast, and efficient.

How about a porpoise. They're fast, intelligent, and as Lewis Carol said,
you shouldn't go anywhere without a porpoise.

Why are we wasting time and bandwidth? The small oval is fine.
If you want to waste time - why an animal? Use a flower, say a peony, to
symbolize the blossoming richness and continued growth of PHP. Here's a
bouquet, lifted from www.flowerbud.com ... no I shouldn't do that, here's a
link
I think an animal mascot is a beat idea.
Needlenose pliers. Enough said! ;)
