Is php.net bounceing your posts or does your ISP bounce your e-mails?
maybe you could send us a copy to have a look?

Yeah, get that bounce every time a message is sent to php-general. It's
obviously coming from a bad address subscribed to the list, though, as all
messages appear on the list long before that bounce comes in.

Cheers!

No, I don't believe so -- the bounce you posted looks exactly like the one I get from
every message posted to the list, and my messages get through fine. In fact, the
bounce generally arrives days after the message has made it to the list!

Cheers!

Sooo ... now if you would have taken a slight look at the mail
you got, you might have noticed 'dswu27.btconnect.com'. Now, someone
registered an e-mail adress to PHP.General

which bounces every message back it gets from the list (right to the
author of the mail as is does a simple reply.

chris.

when i talked to my internet people about those sorts of emails like
btconnect and pandasoft virus warnings all they told me was that some
spammer person had probably tagged the php mailinglist database of email
addresses and are now bouncing emails around all the php mailing list
people... it happened to be figured out that way at least on my end because
the mysql mailing list server sent me an email today saying that it had
received lots of emails that bounced off my email address and will now take
me off the list the next time it happens.. so even though that list email is
valid the bounces to that list are spammers trying to do whatever it is they
get their highs out of.
Only problem with this theory is that I receive timeout messages from
BTconnect as well everytime I post, despite me living in Denmark and having
Tiscali for provider ... and everytime I get one, it fits with my messages
never showing up on list ... I've got a filter setup to specifically find
my messages that come back from the lists, and the ones I get timeout
messages for never come back ...

when i talked to my internet people about those sorts of emails like
btconnect and pandasoft virus warnings all they told me was that some
spammer person had probably tagged the php mailinglist database of email
addresses and are now bouncing emails around all the php mailing list
people... it happened to be figured out that way at least on my end because
the mysql mailing list server sent me an email today saying that it had
received lots of emails that bounced off my email address and will now take
me off the list the next time it happens.. so even though that list email is
valid the bounces to that list are spammers trying to do whatever it is they
get their highs out of.

Hey Rob,
The last thing I want to start is a religion discussion..that why I said
god and didnt take a name or say there was just one god,if I think so or
not. (which had an advantage of even an athiest voteing for this :-D )
Regarding the 6 degrees of seperation, I really dont go with that
theory...go figure, and finally regarding the gods wanting a
sacrifice...fair enough, catch these spammers, throw petrol on them and give
me a matchbox

DON'T MAKE AN AUTO-REPLY!!

UNSUBSCRIBE YOURSELF!!
Does not Fing work!!
The unsubscribe process requires you to reply to the eMail that is sent.
THAT email is bounced for many people who are trying to unsubscribe.
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND FIX THE SYSTEM SO THAT WE
C*A*N* UNSBSCRIBE !

There is obviously an anti spam filter that processes many of these
requests and prevent email IN while still sending it OUT to the banned
addresses !

Chill out, or you'll see no help, OK?

If for whatever reason you don't get that unsibscribe email, you need to
contact the people who run this list:

php-general-owner at lists dot php dot net

But use that as a /last/ resort. Try the unsubscribe page on the PHP website
first:

Coming on this list and swearing at everyone won't get you anywhere.

WHY?
I am hitting reply, and EVERY php list sends a message back bouncing the
unsubscribe message ( along with every post I have tried to make since
XMAS - which is why I am having to use the newsgroup interface )
This only happens on list.php.net, I have no problem with any other
developer list I am moderator of or involved with !

Seeing that the unsubscribe works for the vast majority, one would guess
that the problem isn't on the list server end.

Have a look at the headers of this message. You'll see (or should see) a
Return-path: header. Like this:

  Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You see this bit: elfyn=emcb.co.uk? That's the email address I subscribed

use the correct address to 'try' and unsubscribe or, yes, ezmlm will ignore
