[PHPTAL] Validation of XHTML

One of the attractions of PHPTAL over Smarty and others is that the webpages are no longer a mixture of languages. Does anyone know a validator that will check the XHTML without complaining about PHPTAL's attributes which begin tal and metal? Or is there another way to get it past the W3C
