Better? Naming conventions are just that naming conventions, as long as you can keep it consistent the better. However, if you want to argue, I think it would be better to use the extention .xhtml. But that isn't just me who thinks so, since the default Output mode of phptal is| PHPTAL::XHTML| :). It is better to name templates with .html or .xml extension? PHPTAL templates are valid xml files, but in phptal manual tamplates are named with .html extension...
