Ed,
Very best wishes for the opening on Friday. The text you wrote to accompany
your images is very beautiful.
I took the liberty of contacting the museum to inquire about the availability
of the catalogue you mentionned. They may suddenly get a surge in Email about

Gregg,
Actually there is a printed catalogue from the original exhibiton in
Esztergom. The work in the catalogue is excellent as was the original show
which I had the pleasure to see. I bought 20 catalogues and am trying to
sell them in Japan at my workshops and on my site. Perhaps you or someon
The PolyConic one is sort of an anamorphic version...never seen this before.
Its a 31k image though, even if we could legally use it

Keep in mind that if one wants to go for animation, the time it will take to
download the animation will be significant. N

Mark,
I really, really like the results. And I agree, the lens camera could never
provide the feeling of your images. Its purpose is to come as close as possible
to the 'real' thing! Funny that they spend so much efforts transforming the
'real thing' so that it looks like 'something else' that i
hi all, thanks for the positive feedback on the images.
guy, you had it right as far as how they were done. the figures are "normal"
photos that are cut out, placed in miniature environments then
re-photographed with the pinhole. i tried doing the same thing with a lens
camera but the results were

Try this as a substitute, it works exactly the same way:
Take an empty gallon of paint and drill a pinhole at the bottom of the can.
You will have to figure out the size of the opening but try something like
0.5mm (0.2 in). Then fit a sheet of paper along the walls of the can. Put
the lid

I'd suggest you investigate anamorphs to start with. Once you figure
out how they're produced, you could probably design a camera. The
photos at Pinhole Resource don't provide much help; but my best guess
is that there's a conical or cylinderical mirror in the center that's
projecting the image ont
Steven,

While this may not be exact same approach as the camera listed at Pinhole

Hi Ed,
The Hungarian images are really intriguing. They all have an historical feel
to them - as if they were made in the 19th century. Is this typical of
Hungarian pinholers? I guess the age of the architecture helps, but its more
than that. Very interesting stuff.
Best wishes on your own
I was wondering if anyone know how to make the pinhole camera found

how it works so i can try to build on myself.

Hello Guy,
Beautiful image! It captures the Valentine season in northern
climates. To paraphrase David Vestal's recent comments in Photo

Hi all,
It was the day after Valentine day and the sun was casting a beautiful
light in the windows of the appartment. So I took the vase with the
flowers I had offered my wife, placed it in the window and took this

Mark,
I love your images. I'm not quite sure I understand what you did,
though. Did you take photographs of these women, cut them out and

Hi all,
You can see six images from the 12th Biennal in Esztergom Hungary which had
the theme Camera Obscura at http://www.fotomuzeum.hu/kiall/bienal.html The
images don't enlarge but are there as a preview to the museum exhibition.
