i think the trick is going to be to cut the paper a bit longer than 5 so that
it hangs out of the holder a little.
oops.. sorry if that was confusing.. i'm using 4x5 film holders.. so maybe
cutting it 4 x 5.25 (like i said - a bit longer than 5) would work?

Another inexpensive option would be the arista ortho litho film from
freestyle. It is sold precut for filmholders, 4.9x3.9, and at last
check it was 17.99 for 100 sheets. Not bad. It's better than finding
out the hard way that the huge box of 5x7 paper has to be shaved just a
wee bit so it will

Just a note that 4x5 film is actually a little smaller than 4 x 5. You should
be able to use
paper in a film holder if you cut it to the correct size.
