Dear Maintainer,

With recent versions of WebKitGTK+, Eclipse crashes whenever Javadoc
hover help is to be displayed in the Java editor.

Looks this happens because WebKit doesn't attach a default
   Authenticate listener and therefore
   WebKitGTK.soup_session_get_feature() returns 0 in WebKit.create().

See linked eclipse bug report for fix that should be applied in
   debian/patches/.

Hi,

This problem is fixed for me in the unstable version of swt-gtk.
Accordingly I am now closing it in *sid*, but it will remain open for
the version in testing until the package can migrate.

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Eclipse for debian testing (jessie) are eclipse 3.8.
But this version has the bug #417542
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=417542) that avoid to launch
eclipse

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
I report the bug at eclipse : it was resolved for the new version of eclipse
(eclipse kepler)

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Can you upload the new version of eclipse, please ?

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Thanks for all,

Bug#723919: maven-debian-helper: Fails to recognize scope system

2013-09-21 Thread Sebastian Humenda
Package: maven-debian-helper
Version: 1.6.5
Severity: normal

mh_make ignores dependencies like:
scopesystem/scope
systemPath/some/path/to/a/jar/systemPath

and claims that they cannot be found in the maven-repo.

In special cases, recognizing the scope system could be important to allow
packages to be build where the dependencies won't have maven meta information.

Thanks
Sebastian

Bug#723956: libjline-java, libjline2-java: error when trying to install together

2013-09-21 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: libjline-java,libjline2-java
Severity: serious
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-file-overwrite

Architecture: amd64
Distribution: sid

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

  Selecting previously unselected package libjline2-java.
  Unpacking libjline2-java (from .../libjline2-java_2.11-1_all.deb) ...
  dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libjline2-java_2.11-1_all.deb
(--unpack):
   trying to overwrite
'/usr/share/maven-repo/jline/jline/debian/jline-debian.pom', which is also in
package libjline-java 1.0-2
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   /var/cache/apt/archives/libjline2-java_2.11-1_all.deb

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  usr/share/java/jline.jar
  usr/share/maven-repo/jline/jline/debian/jline-debian.jar
  usr/share/maven-repo/jline/jline/debian/jline-debian.pom

This bug is assigned to both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

Cheers,

Andreas

PS: for more information about the detection of file overwrite errors
of this kind see http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/.
