javahelper: jh_linkjars doesn't support -N

2014-03-21 Thread Thorsten Glaser
retitle 719842 javahelper: jh_linkjars doesn't support -N
severity 719842 normal
reassign 719842 javahelper
thanks

Reassigning to javahelper after discussion with joeyh on IRC:

 jh_linkjars doesn't support -N
but dh passes -N to it
 it's in /usr/share/perl5/Debian/Debhelper/Sequence/javahelper.pm
well, if you put a commad in a dh sequence, it needs to support the debhelper
options

Bug#734599: libsnappy-java: Fails with FAILED_TO_LOAD_NATIVE_LIBRARY

2014-03-21 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi again Alexandros,

as I said two monthes ago: Your patch does not apply. I checked
again and it turns out that the problem that it contains a patch for
a non-existing Makefile.in - how did you got this file.

We'd happily fix this bug but for me it is hard to reproduce (since I do
not use this package) and your patch simply does not apply so I have no
idea how I can help you.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

It seems you did not created the patch against this repository since it
also contained an empty debian/patches/series file and a
debian/source/format file. After dealing with some warnings the essential
 patch seems to be in

debian/patches/jni.patch

Unfortunately if I put this at the end of the series file it does not
apply cleanly. Would you be so kind to rework your patch to apply
 cleanly with quilt?

Your help is greatly appreciated since we simply have created the
package as some precondition without the necessary solid Java
 background.

 Kind regards

Hello Andreas,

I am sorry, I somehow missed the first correspondence, thanks for
contacting me directly (I was actually beginning to lose hope). I will
have a look at it ASAP

Bug#660688: [jenkins] Please enable maven-plugin

   Re: James Page 2012-07-30 50167644.2040...@ubuntu.com
Please note that it is possible to use the maven-plugin as
distributed by upstream - so you should still be able to
   use this plugin.

I tried to, but I couldn't find it listed in the Available
tab. I guess that's because they assume it is included in
   core.
   I grabbed

   http://pkg.jenkins-ci.org/debian/binary/jenkins_1.480_all.deb

and moved the maven-plugin.hpi and javadoc.hpi to
/var/lib/jenkins/plugins. Created directories there without the hpi
and unzipped the files into it. This seems to serve as a
   workaround.

You should be able to install the maven plugin from the Jenkins Web UI
  - - I think its titled 'Maven 2 Plugin'.

Tried that but it doesn't seem to werk for plugins already shipped with
upstream Jenkins. It didn't show up for me.

FWIW, http://updates.jenkins-ci.org/download/plugins/maven-plugin/ may offer
the right version to be picked, i.e. currently for unstable's version,
http://updates.jenkins-ci.org/download/plugins/maven-plugin/1.509.2/maven-plugin.hpi

Btw, don't update it, once installed, or you'll get Java exceptions, if I'm not
mistaken.

Hope this helps.
