Hello,
(CCing a bug report on a package I maintain).
I'm facing this too, ultimately causing a FTBFS in libtomcat-maven-plugin-java:

Hello,
I'm packaging a new version (0.40) of osmosis, and it needs a newer version of
junit (4.10). We still have 4.8 in the repositories, while 4.10 has been
released back in September.
Would you please update it?
Thanks,
David

Ciao Gio,
a new version of osmosis (0.40) has been released, and it needs woodstox 4.1.2.
I see this bug has stalled for a while, do you have any plans on releasing
a newer woodstox in Debian? :)
Thanks,
David

Hello,
I'm trying to package oauth-signpost (see #573556), but it FTBFS (well, the
tests fail). This is because it uses Mockito, which in turn uses cglib, which
uses libasm-java. Here's my backtrace:

Hello,
the POM file for javacc, located
at /usr/share/maven-repo/net/java/dev/javacc/javacc/debian/javacc-debian.pom ,
lists the artifact junit:junit:jar:debian as a dependency. This causes FTBFS on
packages depending on javacc.

Hello,
I'm trying to package geowebcache (ITP #), which in turn depends on many other
things not present in Debian. One of these is tomcat-maven-plugin. This depends
on plexus-component-metadata, version 1.5.1.

Forgot to give the bug numbers.
The original ITP is #589724, the one depending on the new version of
plexus-component-metadata is #589725.
Kindly,

Hello,
as currently packaged, ecj is not usable (AFAICS, but I'm not really an expert)
