Thanks for notifying.
That should be okay because pkg-javascript has other tools to deal with
bundling now.

(i did not know if it was a good idea to reply to all bugs so i replied to
none
and cc-ed pkg-javascript).

Package: pkg-js-tools
Version: 0.8.1
Severity: wishlist

When using components in node modules, the best way to use them is to
install them in node_modules/ directory. However, dpkg-source install
them at the top source directory under a directory named by "component"
field value (debian/watch).

The idea here is, before build, to automatically read debian/watch to find
components, read /package.json to find the node name and
create a link "../ => " in node_modules directory
(created on-the-fly). Also, it will remove automatically node_modules
directory during dh_clean step.
Then no need to overwrite NODE_PATH in debian/rules.

Any comment is welcome here ;-).

Oops indeed, the common dir is the modules dir here.
Quick fix is to move tslib to /usr/share/nodejs.
Otherwise node-resolve might need to be fixed, but i don't see how.

I did not understand this, can you specify which packages you are referring to
here ?

It seems several packages are installing files into
"rollup-plugin-typescript".
In this case, all such packages should agree upon the place where the
common directory should be (/usr/share/nodejs/rollup-plugin-typescript looks
fine to me).

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#933077: /usr/lib/nodejs/tslib vs /usr/share/nodejs/tslib breaking node-rollup-plugin-typescript

2019-07-26 Thread Pirate Praveen
Package: node-tslib, node-typescript, node-rollup-plugin-typescript
Severity: serious
Justification: breaks node-rollup-plugin-typescript

In last upload of node-tslib, location was changed from /usr/lib/nodejs to
/usr/share/nodejs. This broke node-rollup-plugin-typescript as it was trying to
load 'tslib/tslib.es6.js'

While running rollup from node-sourcemap-codec it failed

praveen@mahishasura:~/forge/node-sourcemap-codec$ rollup -c
[!] Error: Cannot find module 'tslib/tslib.es6.js' from

at Module.require (internal/modules/cjs/loader.js:637:17)
at require (internal/modules/cjs/helpers.js:22:18)

It worked after adding a symlink to /usr/share/nodejs/tslib from
/usr/lib/nodejs/rollup-plugin-typescript/node_modules.

I'm not sure if that is the right fix. Ideas?

Shouldn't node-typescript also move tslib to /usr/share/nodejs?

Generated 'dist' directory is not installed (already fixed in git).

But it seems rollup still can't find the export.

SyntaxError: The requested module 'locate-character' does not provide an export
named 'locate'

In Debian package we have (in dist/locate-character.es.js),

exports.locate = locate;

But in npm registry tar, it is

export { getLocator, locate };

Could this be a problem?

I tried changing back require to import for locate-character after shipping ES
module (please build node-locate-character git master) but got this error.

Can some one try to reproduce this?

I asked upstream to support this method, possibly as another module,

I need help with handling help.md (disabled right now) since my js skills are
