This starts to become a very old bug, and it needs to be addressed. We
can't keep this ancient version. At the same time, #680282 also needs to
be addressed.
Any news on this? Shall I bring this topic to debian-devel@?

As noted in #673727 there is a Free Software version of JLint now (but
as mentioned that probably wasn't holding things up anyway).
Also this bug appears to be the same as #730014, I will merge.
