Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action

OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient.

Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Fwd: Report: Debian Packaging Workshop at COEP

2017-01-08 Thread Pirate Praveen

 Forwarded Message
Subject:Report: Debian Packaging Workshop at COEP
Resent-Date:Sun, 8 Jan 2017 13:59:19 + (UTC)
Resent-From:debian-dug...@lists.debian.org
Date: Sun, 8 Jan 2017 19:32:47 +0530
From: Abhijit A. M.
To: debian-dug...@lists.debian.org

Dear Debianers,

A Debian Packaging workshop was organized by Dept. of Computer Engg. and
I.T. at College of Engineering Pune (COEP)[0] and COEP's Free Software
Users Group (COFSUG)[5] on 2-8 Jan 2016.

Praveen A, Debian Developer and Sruthi Chandran, Debian Maintainer were
the main instructors for the workshop. Abhijit A. M., faculty at COEP,
was the coordinator.

A total of 32 students from the department of Computer Engineering and
I.T. participated in the workshop. We had total 2*7 total sessions on 7
continuous days. This was perhaps for the first time that a Debian
Packaging workshop was conducted for this long interval in India.

The workshop was also addressed voluntarily by Raju Vindane, an intern
with Hamara Linux, Krishnakant Mane and Abhijith Balan from the GNUkhata
team.

The students were introduced with basics of packaging like lxc
container, npm2deb, build system, dpkg-buildpackage, lintian, changing
the files in debian/ folder (copyright, rules, changelog, copyright,
etc.), sbuild, Debian processes, debian mailing lists, in the first
three days. As a learning exercise the students did packaging of Nodejs
packages deep-eql, pretty-hrline and prase-glob which were
already packaged.

After that the students voluntarily took up the packaging of different
nodejs related packages. A total of 32 packages were packaged by
students. As on Sunday, 8th Jan 2017, 12 packages were actually
uploaded to the NEW queue of Debian system.

Some of the students have expressed their interests in packaging key and
important software like gitlab, diaspora and GNUkhata in future. Some
have expressed their desire to continue packaging the nodejs packages.

The list of packages done during the workshop:

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#850660: nodejs-dev: npm conflicts transitively with libssl-dev since nodejs-dev 4.7.2~dfsg-1

2017-01-08 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: nodejs-dev
Version: 4.7.2~dfsg-1
Severity: wishlist
Affects: npm npm2deb node-gyp libssl-dev

Dear NodeJS Maintainers,

since the upload of 4.7.2~dfsg-1¸ npm is no more co-installable with
libssl-dev which is rather annoying.

Full dependency chain causing this issue:

* npm depends upon node-gyp
* node-gyp depends upon nodejs-dev
* nodejs-dev depends upon libssl1.0-dev
* libssl1.0-dev conflicts with libssl-dev

It would be nice if that chain could be broken somewhere as any
non-development package pulling in a non-default development package
which conflicts with a default development package is very annoying.

Maybe a solution similar to the one for apache2-dev can found:

This is what I have:
paul@testavoira ~ $ ll
/usr/share/javascript/jquery-ui/css/smoothness/jquery-ui.min.css
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 32021 dec 8 08:59
/usr/share/javascript/jquery-ui/css/smoothness/jquery-ui.min.css

I don't see the problem, unless something really is looking for
ui.min.css. But that wasn't even there in the old package as far as I
can tell.

Yes, the default theme and the file layout upstream changed. But I added
a convenience symlink from css/smoothness to themes/base so this should
work.

This is the assertion which fails:

1482551006652 == '1482551006653'

The number is clearly the number of seconds after the epoch, i.e. "date +%s"
and the test clearly takes the current time at different times and expects
those timestamps to be the same. This is a race condition and should be
disabled,
because tests are supposed to be always successful.

If you want "a way to reproduce it", just build it over and over again
until it fails (it will).

Thanks.

[Pkg-javascript-devel] node-is-error_2.2.1-1_amd64.changes is NEW

2017-01-08 Thread Debian FTP Masters
binary:node-is-error is NEW.
binary:node-is-error is NEW.
source:node-is-error is NEW.

Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action
from the ftpteam to process. The upload was otherwise valid (it had a good
OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient.

Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel
free to browse the NEW queue[1].

If there is an issue with the upload, you will receive an email from a
member of the ftpteam.

If you have any questions, you may reply to this email.

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#840721: node-escodegen: FIX_ME long description

2017-01-08 Thread Philip Hands
Package: node-escodegen
Followup-For: Bug #840721

Hi Praveen,

Prompted by your request for help with descriptions, here's one.

I'm sure it is possible to come up with a better description than this,
but at least this gets rid of the FIX_ME problem.

Cheers, Phil.
