[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#672388: npm: completion in Zsh causes error message regarding missing /usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh

2012-05-10 Thread Michael Prokop
Package: npm
Version: 1.1.4~dfsg-1
Severity: normal

I'm using Zsh:

% zsh --version
zsh 4.3.17 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu)

which provides a completion in its package
(/usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_npm), but
there seems to be something fishy in the npm package.

When I press the tab key after 'npm ' then I get:

| % npm
| npm ERR! Error: ENOENT, open '/usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh'
| npm ERR! You may report this log at:
| npm ERR! http://bugs.debian.org/npm

| npm ERR! errno {}
| npm ERR!
| npm ERR! Additional logging details can be found in:

This is the same output I also get when manually running the command
/usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_npm uses:

| % npm completion --color false --loglevel error --
| [snip same message as above]

Regarding /usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh - this file doesn't
exist:

% ls -la /usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh
ls: cannot access /usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh: No such file or
directory

regards,
-mika-

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#671669: Removed package(s) from unstable

2012-05-10 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

libv8-3.7.12.22 | 3.7.12.22-3 | mipsel
libv8-3.8.9.16 | 3.8.9.16-2 | mipsel
 libv8-dbg | 3.8.9.16-2 | mipsel
 libv8-dev | 3.8.9.16-2 | mipsel

--- Reason ---
ANAIS; no longer build on mipsel
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

The version of this package that was in Debian prior to this removal
can still be found using http://snapshot.debian.org/.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 671...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/671669

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#672388: Bug#672388: npm: completion in Zsh causes error message regarding missing /usr/share/npm/lib/utils/completion.sh

Hi Michael,

What makes you decide that the fishy part is in npm when zsh provided
that /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_npm file?

I could easily imagine that zsh had put something together that assumed
npm was installed outside of the system, i.e. below either $home or
/usr/local - which obviously isn't the case for Debian-packaged npm.

Or did I misunderstand something?

(I don't use zsh)

The package is looking good, and am eager to use it as a depend of
owncloud.  This would actually allow us to bring the media application
 back.  (Already working on that.)

Two small nitpicky things about debian/copyright:
 - The DEP-5 is a standard now, so the Format URL is now:
  http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/

Fixed

 - Please also include the Upstream-Contact field.

Fixed

Since it is a jQuery plugin, is it not supposed to depend on jQuery somehow?
(Possibly as suggest/recommend, I don't how it's done for other plugins?)

Fixed brown-bagged. For some reason, I forgot to include the single
most obvious dependency in the history of Debian packaging (!!!).

I have re-uploaded to mentors

The name indicates that it *requires* jquery. If so then it should
depend on jquery - recommending is when is in _most_ cases need it, and
suggesting is when it _sometimes_ need it.

jPlayer is a jQuery plugin, so it should depends on libjs-jquery.

I suggest you add README.Debian file, like it [0][1]
