[Pkg-javascript-devel] arbiterjs_1.0-1_amd64.changes is NEW
binary:libjs-arbiter is NEW. source:arbiterjs is NEW. Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of the override file. It is ok otherwise, so please be patient. New packages are usually added to the override file about once a week. ___ Pkg-javascript-devel mailing list Pkg-javascript-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-javascript-devel
[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#734763: Please update libjs-jquery-cookie and use upstream numbering
Hi Raphael, $ dpkg -c galette_0.7.6.1-2_all.deb |grep cookie lrwxrwxrwx root/root 0 2013-11-05 10:03 ./usr/share/galette/includes/jquery/jquery.cookie.js - ../../../javascript/jquery-cookie/jquery.cookie.js So there's no bug here regarding jquery-cookie. Sorry, I did not realise that symlinks could be used for specific js libraries in this way. I thought they were handled at the webserver level, with an alias. There might be other local packages with similar dependencies that you should not ignore. Yes indeed, the packages that I hope will enter Debian one day are like this. One major problem that I have with convincing our upstream developers to support Debian is that they could not predict the specific library version available, so it is easier for them to bundle in the library. Jerome's patch addresses this issue for libjs-jquery-cookie. Thanks! Re: [Pkg-javascript-devel] about granting scm commit access to the alioth project
Quoting Jonas Smedegaard (2014-01-27 20:44:47) Quoting Jonas Smedegaard (2014-01-02 16:29:30) Quoting Jérémy Lal (2014-01-02 13:01:12) I wonder if there is a minimum official requirement for granting SCM commit access to newcomers. At most there is common practice and of that there is several: Alioth is provided by Debian and has the requirement that its use should be related to Debian, but apart from that we decide on our own how we want to work internally in our team. I like to avoid taking or giving orders from others, and since we use Alioth only as central hub for distributed resources (git and mailinglists) I see no need for hierarchy and routinely appoint super cow powers to any newcomer to our team. If others insist that we should have hierarchy and distrust newcomers until they somehow prove themselves worthy of higher power, then I will demote myself to the lowest power (and consider leaving the group). Noone commented on this part. Last call: If noone argues to the contrary, I will promote all team members to admin status one week from now. Done: We now have equal powers within this team! I also dropped roles now no longer used in our team. Any of us can re-add them later if needed: we have equal powers. - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private signature.asc Description: signature ___ Pkg-javascript-devel mailing list Pkg-javascript-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-javascript-devel

[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#731095: Please consider switching tablesorter to alternate upstream

Are you confident that switching to a fork wouldn't negatively impact these packages? I'm definitely not confident of this, as I'm not familiar with the javascript packaging/versioning/upgrades policy. Hence why I asked the maintainer to _investigate_ this situation, as they have better knowledge than me on this front, not to simply switch over. I was asking in regards to the tablesorter plugin itself, not Debian policies, in the hope that you may be familiar with the differences between the two. Is the fork a drop-in replacement for the original plugin? Did it introduce incompatible changes, such as removing methods or properties? Etc.
