Since this is an old and necessary change, they can not revert it, and since
this is in kdebase, and not kdelibs, ABI changes are allowed I guess.

scan through my photographs. That's understandable, but it would be
nice if the splash window (that can't be moved or closed) had gone
away before now.

digikam is currently scanning my photos. There's a progress bar, but
it's been at 100% all the time, except when it once temporarily jumped
down to 0%. It might be more useful if it showed some indication of
progress instead.
